Job Title: Director of Development Services

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under minimal supervision, oversees a small department. Performs responsible work including coordination of development projects. Work requires significant interpretative judgment in variation from established procedures and standards.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Oversee the day to day duties of the Development Services department; prepare the development newsletter; leads the Development Review Team and coordinates Development Review Team projects including site visits and related follow-up; meet with contractors, architects, developers and/or property owners to provide customer-service based problem resolution; oversee permit and inspection planning, code enforcement workload and assignments; prepare department budget; process confidential information regarding personnel and proposed actions; gather, analyze and present data in the form of written, graphic or oral reports for use before boards, advisory committees and public hearings; oversee and coordinate Community Development Block Grant programs; assist City Manager with special projects; and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering or related field, and five years of planning, development or public administration experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
