Awards



In remembrance of Mitsuo Kawamoto, professional planner, landscape architect, and member founder of NPZA in 1966, NPZA established the Excellence in Planning Award. Mitsuo, a long time supported of NPZA settled in Omaha in 1951 and set up his own land-use planning firm.

In remembrance of Loretta Ludemann, director of the Norfolk Housing Authority, past NPZA president and recipient of the 1997 Mitsuo Kawamoto Excellence in Planning Award, NPZA established the Excellence in Planning by a Nebraska Woman Award. Loretta inspired many of Nebraska’s Citizen planners, to involve themselves in community planning and giving their best efforts
